Vehicle Description The Jaguar E-Type was introduced to the public in 1961 and continued in Series I, II, and III variants until 1975, with Series I Jaguars remaining the most desirable and tastefully designed of the bunch.
It was initially shown as a two-seater fixed head coupe and also as a two-seater convertible.
The latter model became known as a roadster and was by far the most popular of Jaguar's models at the time.
Motoring enthusiasts instantly adored it for its sleek styling and outstanding performance.
Series I E-Types are immediately recognizable for their covered headlamps, delicate two-piece bumpers, slender tail lamps, and a more streamlined, elegantly styled front end.
The Series I XKE is renowned for being one of the most beautiful cars in the world, with performance to match its sleek, sporting design.
This 1967 Jaguar XKE Roadster is a fantastic, entirely numbers matching example of the platform.
The car is finished in it's original specification of attractive Opalescent Maroon over a black leather interior with a matching convertible top.
It is a striking color combination that perfectly suits the elegant lines of the Series I bodywork.
While technically a 1966 model as it was built on April 18th and shipped on May 9th; this example was not sold or registered by the first owner until November of 1966, at which time the issued title and registration identified it as a 1967 model.
This Jaguar was originally ordered new by Hoffman's Jaguar Cars, in New York, NY.
The original owner, Douglas K.
Edwards, drove the car extensively after taking delivery, however, owned it for just under a year as on October 11th, 1968, it was sold to the second owner, James Wesley Kram and his wife, Paulette Kram.
At the time of Kram's purchase, this E-Type had already covered a monumentous 11,559 miles; a considerable amount given that the original owner had it for less than a year.
The Kram family had enjoyed the E-Type regularly until October of 1988, when they decided to put the car through a refurbishment.
Little did they know that the refurbishment would take nearly a decade, although they were careful to document all steps of the restoration process.
After another refurbishment in 2015 performed by Treasured Motorcar Services, LTD.
in Reiserstown, MD, the Kram family had made the tough decision to sell the E-Type to it's next caretaker.
Today, we are extremely excited to offer this Series 1 E Type for sale to the public- as this example is as turn key & well documented as they come.
The hard top offers a wonderful driving experience to those who enjoy fall foliage tours the most; and the soft top offers the iconic roadster experience that so many know, and love.
Overall, this E-Type is ready to give it's new caretaker the best mid century British driving experience possible in any season.
