Vehicle Description Just in.
really solid 51,000 mile car.
Excellent body, seems to have been repainted once (probably many years ago) but paint is still quite nice.
All new red leather interior, fairly new cloth top, tonneau (not show but having a new zipper installed), excellent chrome.
I have owned, sold, and driven maybe 100 TDs during the 46 years we have been in business.
And I don t remember ever driving a car distinctly better than this car.
In first and reverse, a lot of TD transmissions sound like the proverbial shaken coffee can filled with nus and bolts.
This one sounded like an all synchro MGB s trans.
And oil pressure? Drove it home the first day we acquired the car, and drove to work on a 90 degree day.
.
50-60 psi oil pressure at 40-50 mph.
Doesn t get any better than that.
No smoke, expected excellent ride, steering, and handling (TDs were built on an MG YB sedan chassis), all gauges work, has working turn signals, a working heater, modern radial tires, zero smoke cold or hot, starts each time at the first turn of the starter, doesn t miss a beat.
All in all, a really nice TD, painted and detailed underneath (in what appears to be original paint), quiet exhaust, proper working shocks, and that wonderful folding windshield.
Ideal to install twin racing screens and keep the windscreen down all season.
All reasons a good TD is about the ideal lower priced classic.
And easy to service and maintain.
