Vehicle Description Reputedly restored by last owner.
.
to be candid, a very nice car if not completely restored.
76,000 actual miles since new (as certified on title), excellent chassis and metal pieces underneath, virtually perfect battery box (an item that is almost always rusted away), excellent wood floors (an urethaned on top), excellent body (went over the edges with a magnet, found no plastic filler), older but still very nice paint, new top, very good tonneau cover, and.
.
Compression check found 150-155 psi compression in every cylinder, 65 psi oil pressure at operating temperature, no smoke cold or hot, quiet gearbox with excellent synchromesh, wire wheels and tires look to be in good condition, all of the chrome appears to be new, wiring is excellent, original gauges work, and Runs and drive wonderfully, no rattles, no groans or creeks, excellent ride and handling, strong braking, SU carbs are spotless and appear to have been recently rebuilt, has original banjo style steering wheel, seats, carpets, and interior panels are all in excellent condition.
What is left? Possibly the best compromise in a fair weather classic sports careasily cruises at any practical speed, remarkably comfortable, and (of course) went different aesthetics? Imagine.
new deep BRG paint over tan interior? Cost to dye the interior isn t very much and there is zero bodywork needed prior to a repaint.
Or just enjoy it exactly as it is.
