For Sale: 1953 MG TD in Stratford, Connecticut for sale in Stratford, CT

1 of 18
Vehicle Description A car we sold maybe eight years ago, has been owed and barely used by an older couple in Tennessee.
Beautiful red paint on an excellent body, literally laser straight with a show finish and mirror image.
And checked the edges of the body, doors, fenders with my magnet.
no indication of plastic filler anywhere.
Excellent chrome, converted to wire wheels with new drums, splined hubs, and hardware.
All new gray interior, new top, new tonneau, has a very nice appearance.
On the road, lively performance, as fast as any TD I can remember, maintained 65 psi oil pressure at operating temperature, no smoke cold or hot, steering excellent, same with brakes, no rattles, gearbox had good synchromesh action and the shifter didn t even rattle (a common issue with TDs), overall, a ready to use/drive near seventy year old car.
Now, TDs never had wire wheels from the factory but now and then, one finds a TD with wire wheels fitted at the original US dealership.
In this car s case, installed rather recently.
And nothing makes a TD look better than a set of wire wheels.
TDs offer the most bang for the buck.
.
very pre war classic styling yet easy to service and maintain in the 21st century.
Very precise rack and pinion steering, soft coil spring front suspension, inexpensive modern radial tires, good brakeslots of post war virtues in a classic sports car with running boards.
